As a helping professional myself, I know how quickly stress can accumulate. Incorporating mindfulness and meditation practices into my daily life has transformed my relationship with stress. It has also increased my overall sense of well-being and allowed me to more fully thrive, personally and professionally.
The Body Scan is a simple and effective Mindfulness practice which can help you connect to the present moment by connecting to your body sensations. A Body Scan can be done in less than a minute or over a much longer period of time. It is a practice that I have often used to center myself before meeting with a patient, to ground myself after a difficult or challenging interaction or to simply settle my “overly busy” mind.
